Shenandoah, D.C. and the Finger Lakes

The leaves will start to turn very soon.  I’ve got and itch to get out again.  Car’s been serviced.  And detailed, thanks to Matt (all that cement-like mud from Monument Valley is gonzo); spare hoses and belts are on board.  Chores around the house are done, lawn’s cut and last-minute packing is about to be schlepped to the car.

It’s now early Friday morning, September 30, 2016 and time to be off to squeeze in one more trip this year.  Short one this time; not like the last couple of five-week trips, to Alaska last year and this spring’s trip to Utah and the Southern States.  A week maybe.  Plan is to get down I-77 and on to I-64 to the southern entrance to Shenandoah National Park.  Twisty-turnies up through the park and east to Washington D.C. to see some of the attractions there, especially the Smithsonian.  Then up I-83 and 81 to get to New York and proceed west again across the Finger Lakes, hopefully to see some fall color by then.

It may take a day or two to get into the writing mode again.  This first day will be ‘getting there’.  But I’ll be blogging along the way and would sure like to have you join me in shotgun for another adventure.  Let’s ride!

Safe travels! I’m on the road again too this weekend. I understand the itch.

The itch is real, maybe contagious. Where’re you headed? Not a big deal; it’s not just the destination, it’s the journey and the adventure. Serendipity prevails. Safe travels back to you Andrea!
